| The Bay of Quinte Dental
Society has a dentist available 52 weeks of the year to provide emergency dental
treatment for the relief of pain or infection for patients who do not have their
own dentist.
If you have been in a serious
accident and/or have facial swelling and you suspect that the problem may involve
more than just your teeth, please go immediately to the closest local hospital
emergency department.
If you have a dental emergency,
please follow these steps:
- Call your own dentist
first. He/she should see you when you have a dental emergency.
- If you do not have a
dentist or are unable to reach your dentist, call the Quinte Healthcare Corporation
who will provide you the contact information for the dentist on call. The
numbers to call are:
| Belleville
General Hospital |
969-7400 |
| Trenton
Memorial Hospital |
392-2540 |
| Prince
Edward County Memorial Hospital |
476-1008 |
- You can also call one
of our member dentists.
There is a fee for
using this service.
In order to prevent dental
emergencies as a result of athletic injuries, the BQDS wholeheartedly recommends
the use of athletic mouthguards for vigorous sporting activities (e.g. football,
hockey, basketball, etc.)
